Call for Papers

 

Dear colleagues,

 

We are pleased to invite you to submit an abstract for the 10th JAFAME Conference, which will be held in Osaka from 15th to 16th July 2006. This Conference is scheduled to have workshops for international participants. Those scholars and researchers who are interested in Asian economies are welcome to participate in these workshops. We are expecting to have farsighted and challenging papers from all over the world. Papers from Asian countries are most welcome. Also we are expecting to have graduate students who would like to contribute their excellent papers for the presentation in these workshops. Official languages are English or Japanese.
Abstract should be written in English or Japanese, in about 300 -500 words in English or 1000 characters in Japanese. The deadline is February 28, 2006. All abstracts will undergo a competitive review. Applicants will be notified by April 30, 2006 whether their papers have been accepted for presentation. Papers presented at a workshop will be submitted for publication review.

Outline of 10th JAFAME Conference (International Division)

 

  1. Term: 15th to 16th July 2006
  2. Venue: Kinki University, School of Economics,
    3-4-1 Kowakae Higashi-Osaka, 577-8502, Japan
  3. Conference Theme: Emerging Shape of 'East Asian Economic Community'?
  4. Presentation in Workshops: Free theme as long as it concerns 'Asian market economies'. We are now expecting for proposals including economics, politics, history, sociology, law or any other relevant topics.
  5. Registration Procedure
    Sending a proposal or an abstract of paper by e-mail to onishi@eco.kindai.ac.jp Homepage of the conference is currently under constructing. Registration Fee: Japanese participants (Non member of JAFAME) ….. \10,000 Participants from foreign countries ….Free of charge ( Participants should pay for their foods and lodgings besides registration. Conference staffs would be pleased to help you.)
  6. Papers presented in a workshop will be eligible to be submitted for publishing on JAFAME Annual Report in 2007. Reader of JAFAME will decide whether the paper will be published or not.
  7. Social Activities are now under considering, which possibly includes a fact-finding tour for the concentrated industrial zones of East-Osaka. Extra charge will be added for this tour.
  8. Those experts, scholars or researchers who have full-time jobs can have an invitation letter if they require it in order to visit Japan, which JAFAME will issue. However, other contributors who would like to get an invitation letter, for an example, graduate students must send in a certification letter issued by their affiliation (for examples, authorized by Dean or President of his/her affiliation) to JAFAME.  

 

What is JAFAME?

 

JAFAME is an academic organization, established in 1997.11.22, to promote a wide range of studies concerning Asian market economy, which include history, theory and positive researches. In 2007, commemorating the 10th year, JAFAME will hold workshops for scholars and researchers from all over the world. Any excellent papers and proposals are welcome. Especially we cordially welcome from Asian countries. Main conference theme for the forthcoming conference is 'Emerging Shape of East Asian Economic Community'.
